United Nations Association
The United Nations Association of Champaign County has been in existence since Eleanor Roosevelt started the national UNA movement. Her idea was to create grass support for the UN (via local chapters) so that the UN would not loose American support the way the League of Nations did. Recently the local UNA has ceased to function because the board members have aged out. It is time for the next generation to revitalize the local UNA. The goal of this one-session Communiversity class is to reconstitute the Champaign County UNA. How should we celebrate UN day next fall? Should we do something special for Human Rights Day? Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of global governance.
