Sophie Chiewtrakoon

I am a junior majoring in Information Science and Sociology. My areas of study reflect my academic interests in research for policy-making. I am the current president of the Rural Area Student Initiative (RASI), a Y-RSO that advocates for the too-often underserved and underrepresented group of rural students as well as creating a community of rural students here on campus. In addition to my work with RASI and my research surrounding education inequity and first-generation college students, I am also passionate about sustainability. In my free time, I enjoy reading and drawing (occasionally painting too!).
